Tower of Babel

During this Project I worked extensively on creating models, character models, rigs for the character models, and animating them. I also oversaw multiple playtests to ensure smooth player experience. This was my first real experience creating character models and custom rigs and animating for a full-fledged game.

What I Learned

I learned a lot from this experience. As mentioned earlier I did the character models, most of the other models, custom rigs, and animation. What I learned from this was the importance of clean topology. The characters I created for this project were relatively low poly , so keeping the topology clean was a challenge for me. As I learned during my workflow, the character model topology has significant effects on other aspects of the development specifically the rig creation and animation. This made skin weights for the characters a challenge, naturally this affected the animation as well. This project taught me the importance of clean geometry and where more polys are needed on a model.
